It's been a while since I posted (I even missed a Five Things post - oops) so I thought I would catch you up on what's going on around here.
Five Things
~ Coach heart earbuds ~ |
Despite being sick for half of it, this week was a pretty great one. I spent Sunday celebrating two of my favorite people's birthdays, aced my Policy exam on Thursday and found some great deals on a mini shopping adventure this afternoon. But since it's Valentine's Day, I want to share with you some fun Valentiney things I'm loving. Whether you're going out with your honey, spending the night with friends or hanging out solo, have a great night! Happy Valentine's Day!

Makeup Organization
I'm always looking for new ways to organize my makeup, my closet and my bathroom products. So I spend a lot of time on YouTube or searching through blogs trying to find something that works for me. The only space I have to store makeup is in my desk/vanity. I bought this desk from Target and it works so well with these plastic Rubbermaid bins I also found at Target. They fit so perfectly in the drawer, I couldn't have planned it better!
The bins are divided up as follows:
Large black bin #1 - Face (foundations, powders, blushes)
Large black bin #2 - Eyes (eye liners, eye shadows, mascara)
Large black bin #3 - Lips (lip glosses, lipsticks, lip liners)
Small black bin #1 - Brushes
Small black bin #2 - Specific Testing Samples (Right now, I'm testing out some face moisturizers and eye creams so I have a bunch of deluxe samples from different brands in this bin)
Large white bin #1 (back) - Hand and Nail Care Products
Large white bin #2 (front) - All Deluxe Samples
This arrangement really works for me. When I open the drawer, I can see everything I have and grab what I need quickly. What more could a girl need?
A New Shower
This project has been a long time coming! My parents had been talking about it with their contractor for some time now and about a month ago, they gave the go ahead to tear out the old porcelain bathtub in my bathroom and replace it with a gorgeous brand new shower. It took about three weeks to complete the project. And as anyone knows, doing construction on your home is never a good time. I had to use the downstairs shower and had to deal with people walking through my bedroom all the time. The entire house was a mess; covered in dust and sheetrock. It took hours to clean but in the end it was worth it. The shower is perfect! It's a bummer I'll only be here to use for another few months.
We had to make a few adjustments to the piping since we put a window where the original shower head was. So we moved everything to the other side and added two jets and a rain head. They also put in a little bench and shelf for all my products. It's definitely a remarkable improvement on what was there.

~ My new skincare routine ~ |
I've had several project meetings with my Policy team, an important exam and two projects due this week. Add to that a SuperBowl party on Sunday, dinner and a movie with friends from school on Tuesday and a shopping day with a girlfriend on Saturday and it's been a busy week.
